Favorite Summer Spot

We spent many summer days at Jacobsburg Park this summer.  It is our heaven on Earth.  There is shade from the heat, water to splash in, and bugs galore to catch and study.  There are hiking trails for miles too.  The best part is my boys don't fight at all and can spend the entire day exploring here.  There are no t.v. screens, no internet connections, no computers, no video games, just us and nature.  It is truly my favorite place to unplug and connect with my kids and they connect with each other.

Josh, Ashton, Justin and my boys all spent our first adventure here together.
Gavin found a Crawfish!  He was stoked.
They boys found small fish, water striders, crawfish, and other stream creatures.
 God is good!
God is great! Nature reminds us of that every time we are in it.
Lots of critters swimming around in this bucket.
Our other favorite family joined us on many excursions to Jacobsburg.  The wonderful thing about summer is that we have weekly get togethers with these fabulous folk.  The sad thing about school is that we don't see them much, so we take advantage of long summer days to enjoy their energy and company.
 Another crawfish.
Gavin's most exciting find was a toad.
Here we are at Louis Moore park which is another favorite spot we meet.  There is nothing but smiles in this bunch.  I love that no matter how long it's been since our last meeting we always come back together and pick up where we left off.  Friends for life.
