Friday we took a little road trip to see our friend's wedding in NYC. I have never seen nor been to NYC. The traffic was pretty crazy. It took us 2 1/2 hours just to get from Tim's work to the reception. (it wasn't that far geographically, but as you can imagine traffic on a Friday in and out of the city was busy!)
Here is the happy couple. Kim and Dave. The reception was so beautiful. Kim chose yellow for her main color. The bridesmaid dresses were yellow and the tables had white tablecloths and chair covers with yellow ribbon around the chairs. It was so classy. Kim looked like a princess in her dress! Xavier was so excited to see Kim in her "pretty" dress and Dave in his "handsome" suit. (those were his words)
Xavier absolutely loves Dave! Xavier had a ton of fun dancing and running up to the cake ever chance he could get. Every time we asked Xavier if he wanted to dance he ran to the dance floor. He'd shake his hips for a few seconds and then run up to the cake to admire it. He kept asking when he could eat it. I told him that he could eat it after Dave and Kim cut the cake. So he ran up to Kim and Dave and said, "Dave cut the cake!" Brent even saved the cake from X's anxious little paws a couple times.
A bunch of our friends from the MBA program were also at the reception. It was so much fun to see them again and have people to hang out with at the wedding.
Love these girls!
The lemons were quite the entertainment. They were used to tell each person which table they were assigned to. We had quite a bit of fun getting pictures with them as props.
One thing they had that I thought was awesome was a photo booth. Everyone got to sit in the booth and take pictures. Then we glued the strip of photos onto a piece of paper and wrote a note to the bride and groom. Xavier loved practicing all his faces- mad, surprised, scared, happy, silly. It was hilarious. He didn't want to leave the booth.
After waiting a couple hours Xavier's much anticipated cutting of the cake arrived!
Enjoying the frosting. He used his fingers more than his fork. Yum Yum!

I'm glad that you had fun at the wedding and that you made it in that terrible traffic! That's one thing I love about Phoenix, traffic isn't bad. Did you guys get to do anything else in the city? I love NYC!
