Camden Aquarium

Our family set a goal about a year ago of reading the Book of Mormon all the way through as a family. When we finished we said we would take a trip to the aquarium.  Well, in January we completed the Book of Mormon for the first time!  It was a wonderful thing to celebrate as a family.  We learned so much together and we hope to set a new goal now that we have started reading it again.

 Xavier could hardly contain his excitement as soon as we arrived at the aquarium!

 This tank has a huge crab behind Xavier.  Gavin is the dark silhouette glued to the glass watching every move the crab was making.

 Our ultimate favorite exhibit-  hammerheads, black tip reef shark, lemon shark, nurse sharks, and more all swimming in one gigantic tank.  The boys just sat and stared at the amazing creatures before them.  

 The boys were enthralled at how close they were to the baby turtles.  Gavin kept saying, "Look, baby turtles. Cute!"

 They even had an opportunity to pet rays.  Neither of them wanted to and were a little afraid at what might happen when we touched them.  Finally, Xavier mustered the courage to go for it.  Once he did, he didn't want to stop.  

 Another neat stop were the Jellyfish.  It's almost hypnotic staring at them as they float around.

 Gavin kept backing away from the glass each time a shark came near.  We had to keep reminding him that there was glass protecting us from the sharks.  I can see how intimidating it can be for a big old shark to come near a small little 2 year old.

Outside the aquarium.  We couldn't have picked a better day to be in Philly.  Blue skies and sunshine.  The boys loved our visit to the aquarium.  I couldn't help but envision my X-man swimming with those sharks one day.  He belongs in the water!  Gavin, being the younger brother just follows in big brothers footsteps.  He has come to love the ocean and all it's beauty as much as Xavier.  Thanks to Xavier we have all grown to love the amazing creatures and life that exist in the deep blue!
