Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend. The last month has been a whirlwind for us. Tim traveled 2 of 3 weeks leading up to Easter weekend, and when he was home he was busy with extra work events and mutual responsibilities. When work is that busy for Tim, the demands of home life and children keeps me constantly going too. We were all glad for Easter weekend to arrive. Some quality family time was much needed.

Our first activity was to go to our first Iron Pigs game, which is the AAA team in our area.

The boys were delighted. But once the sun went down it got cold fast.

Gavin couldn't stop saying "OOOOO! OOOOO!" every time the mascot went riding around the field on his four wheeler.

A true baseball fan! Xavier even caught a shirt during one of the breaks.

We lasted about 4 innings and had to head home. We can't wait to visit again when it's a little warmer.

Our second activity was a community Easter Egg Hunt. We parked our car at about 11 (the time the hunt was supposed to start) We knew we would have to walk fast to get to the park in time for the hunt. As we got closer to the park I heard the announcer shouting "Are you ready?" That is when I took Xavier's hand and ran as fast as we could into the mob of kids plowing down the hill in search of the eggs. Since we lagged behind the mob (I say mob because there were probably at least 100 kids there) Xavier was lucky to get 6 eggs. The hunt was over in a matter of minutes. But Xavier had fun and was proud of the eggs he found.

Gavin didn't get a chance to search for eggs, but he was smiling anyway. I guess the early bird got the worm on this one.

We also did our traditional egg decorating night.

Gavin's favorite part was putting stickers on the eggs.

Xavier liked using the crayon to make secret pictures on his eggs.

Then Easter morning the boys woke up to some lovely surprised left by the Easter Bunny.

The Easter Bunny sure knows what the Richardson house likes!

Gavin had a blast searching for all the eggs around the house.

Jelly Beans for breakfast? Yep, that is what my boys ate for breakfast. Jelly beans first and bagels second.

Then we went to church to worship our Lord and Savior and the wonderful gift He gave to us. These boys are truly miraculous gifts that God has granted to me for a short time on this Earth. I am indeed grateful to know of my Savior and the love he has for me and my family. I feel truly blessed to know that we will be together forever because of the Savior fulfilling his purpose on Earth and providing a way for us to return to our Heavenly Father again.

It's not too often all of them are looking at the camera at the same time.

Last, but not least, our friends Karina and Sebastian joined us for dinner and an Easter Egg hunt for 3. It sure beat competing with a mob of 100 other children. Karina was kind enough to cook the main course (Crab and lobster enchiladas, rice, and fresh salsa. It was fabulous! It was fun to do something non-traditional too.)

Gavin has pure joy on his face! He quickly discovered there was candy inside the eggs.

Xavier and Sebastian were collecting the eggs as fast as they could to try to beat the other one.

(Sebastian and Xavier have been in pre-school together for 2 years now and they are also in the same class at church. They've become great buds.)
