Our ward's Christmas party theme was "A Night in Bethlehem". Even though Santa wasn't really a part of the story that took place in Bethlehem the kids were able to sit on Santa's lap before the rest of the evening's program began. My sister Kendra and her family drove up from Michigan and arrived in time to join the fun.
Ava, Xavier's cousin was excited and a little timid at first, to see Santa.
After Gavin warmed up to Santa, we were able to get a family shot. This gentleman has been the ward's Santa Claus for many many years. He even was a Santa at a mall in our area for a long time. He makes a wonderful Santa!
Our ward had a delicious dinner and Tim, Xavier, and I had the honor of playing the roles of Mary, Joseph, and the donkey for the Nativity story.
The angel! She was perfect!
The Shepherds. The 'stache is classic.
Our little family, minus Gavin. We were the lucky family chosen because Gavin was the youngest child in the ward. However, since Gavin has outgrown the "baby" stage and is into the high energy, not-so-cooperative stage, we had to leave him in the nursery with one of the young women while we acted out our roles.
We still love you Gavin! He makes a fantastic donkey!

Looks like an awesome ward party. I love the gingerbread house party idea. You are so awesome for doing that. Wish we lived closer so we could have come!
Seeing how big Gavin is just makes me laugh as I try to picture him being silent and serene like a newborn in the reenactment. Still so cool that the "lead roles". I'm sure Xavier loved being a part of it too!
