Many of you have experienced the severe weather this winter has brought us. We have had snow, snow, and more snow. The kids have had more days off than they've been in school over the last month or so. We've had freezing rain and days so cold we haven't been able to leave the house. Needless to say we are ready for warmer temps and more time outside!
This was the beginning of our snow......but it hasn't seemed to stop......
It's been a challenge navigating the driveway with so much snow in the way.
The boys call them snow mountains and pretend they are climbing mountains in our front yard. I remember when I was a girl playing in snow this deep and thought it was the best winter ever!
Since school has been cancelled quite a bit we've been able to have some fun snow play dates. X and Sebastian enjoyed their buddy time in the snow.
These two have been the best of buds too. We've also had our share of sicknesses, especially poor Gavin. He has had one thing after the other, so we've been hanging out a lot and trying to keep busy indoors.
When the snow gear comes off
the silliness comes out!
We've been doing yoga.
Here they are sleeping bears..... Then it's another round of snow fun...
The snow is getting deeper.
I have been lucky to do my share of the shoveling. Many of the storms have hit while Tim has been on business trips. Fun times!
Then it's back inside for lots of crafting. Here we decided to paint with spaghetti noodles. We even tried using the end of a celery stalk that looked like flowers when you stamped it on the paper. It was pretty neat.
And then Shark dude, Fire man, and Work Zone were patrolling the house and defeating dangerous super villains.
Round number three of snow fun. We had so much snow, Tim built a sledding hill off of our back porch steps. The boys loved it. Since it's been super cold with the snow I haven't wanted to venture out in the cold with Reid for too long. This worked out great. I could watch the boys from the kitchen while Reid was napping and cozy warm in the house.
So we've pretty much been buried in snow all winter. I almost feel like a bear who has been hibernating all winter. It will be nice to see everyone come out of hiding when the temperatures warm up.
The boys have enjoyed the adventures. This will definitely be a winter that will be remembered.
