Jip the Jack-o-lantern

I think we did more pumpkin picking this year than ever....3 pumpkin patch visits and 7 pumpkins. In all those visits we only managed to pick small pumpkins. These small pumpkins were not ideal for carving. We needed a real big one to make our family jack-o-lantern. Since having my surgery happened in the middle of the month we kept putting off the pumpkin carving until the weekend of Halloween. The pumpkin patches weren't the greatest this year because of all the rain and crazy weather, so finding a good pumpkin at this point was almost impossible. Luckily, daddy came to the rescue and found the last pumpkin on display at the grocery store. He grabbed it, payed for it, and brought it home for its transformation.

The master at work.

Watching and waiting.

Grandma sorting through the goo to get the pumpkin seeds.

Xavier showing the utmost patience. It's rare to see him stand this still.

Jip the Jack-o-lantern is born. (Jip is the name Xavier gave him) If you're wondering where Gavin is in these pictures....he was sleeping. :( I forgot to shoot a picture of him when he woke up.

Enjoying some baked pumpkin seeds.
