I feel like the month of October was one Halloween party after another. It's been crazy. The boys have had a blast and eaten way too much candy. I guess that's what Halloween is for right?
TRUNK OR TREAT
Our ward put on a pretty awesome trunk or treat this year. Our Young Women's president took the lead and did a fantastic job. The lobby was all decked out with Halloween stuff. I tried to get a good picture of it all, but with two energetic boys this was the best shot I could get.

Tim and the Young Men did a fishing game. This is Xavier in his fishing action pose.
All Gavin cared about was getting this Elmo bucket.
Pin the bow on the skeleton. Or Pin the face on the Jack-o-lantern.

Gavin was happy as long as he had a lollipop in his hand. They also had a Bingo station, Cotton candy machine with a Halloween movie on the big screen, a cupcake walk, and at the end they had a storyteller tell a fabulous tale. The kids were watching her and listening to her every word while all the grown ups were decorating their trunks.
Each year we get the full sized Mars candy bars to pass out to all the kids. We pretty much got cleaned out within about 10 or 15 minutes. Once the teenagers discovered our treasure they would come back for more. I got serenaded, some would attempt different accents, they would even tell me jokes. It was hilarious the effort the kids made just to get another full sized candy bar.
TRICK or TREATING:

Gavin started getting into our candy bowl before the trick-or-treaters started coming.
He knows exactly the chewy goodness that's inside of these packages.
We went through our neighborhood with our neighbors and friends Aiden and Isabella.
Xavier and Aiden were running from house to house like they were in a race. After about an hour and a half they both ran out of steam. So we headed back to the house for our candy inspection.
The OTHER CANDY COMPANIES vs MARS
We did a little experiment when we got home. I was curious to see how much of Xavier's candy was Mars. We made two piles to find out.
Looks like Mars had a pretty good showing tonight.

After the boys ate a fair share of candy Gavin tried to sneak some more out of our leftovers.
Silly boy!

Starburst Soup. Yummy!

Do you think you can taste the Starburst from the outside of the package?
The boys had another fantastic night filled with spooky creatures, trick-or-treating, and delicious treats.
Wahahahaha! Happy Halloween!
