Dinner in the City

Our friends Adam and Annie Briggs were in town this past week. Adam was here for business and Annie and Violet came along for fun. We decided to meet up for dinner in Philly and catch up. We also met our friends Kim and Dave.



The girls. It took us a little longer to get there since we hit rush our on the way. Once we got there it was dark and the city was all lit up. I love visiting big cities at night. There were so many people out and so much to see. It was our first time in Philly. We ate at a little restaurant called the Italian Bistro. Xavier was so excited to see his "grown up" friends. We were too.



Here are the boys. Xavier and Dave were especially hamming it up this evening. Dave kept trying to give gnocchi to Xavier and Xavier kept insisting that he didn't like gnocchi only macaroni. We also got to sing happy birthday to Adam on his special day.



When everyone was done eating Xavier and Violet played together. He would make her squeal and they would both laugh. It was super cute. There is a running joke that Xavier wants to marry Kim, so we had to tease Dave for that. Saying he better watch out because he had some competition. Dave was giving Xavier a hard time and told him he had to find his own wife. So Xavier said "I want to marry Violet!" Adam said "You're gonna have to ask my permission first." So Xavier instantly replied, "Can I marry her?" It was hilarious. Xavier has now made his first marriage proposal. Better yet, he even gave Violet a kiss, well, several kisses. We had to stop that before Adam put the smack down.

It was so nice to see our friends and hopefully we can make it back to the city soon to do some real sight seeing.
