Since Gavin has a summer birthday his preschool schedules a special day on his behalf to celebrate the great person that he is! Tim and I were invited to come and be a part of his special day.
In preparation for his day we made his favorite cookies (chocolate chip) to share with his class. The boys were fabulous cookie dough rollers. Reid took every spatula, spoon, and whisk out of my jar that sits on the counter to see which one would stir the dough the best. Cooking with kids is quite the event!
During the last hour of class Gavin gets to lead in all the learning activities that take place.
He gets to use the pointer when they talk about the calendar: the month, days of the week, date, weather, and season.
He also got to pick his 3 favorite songs to sing with the class: He picked the snowman song, the lollipop song, and the bean bag song.
Next they got to go to the bike room to exercise. These bikes are pretty fabulous and the boys ride them full speed ahead. It's amazing they don't crash into each other.
Finally we got to sing to Gavin and the children got to eat their treat.
This boys smile and giggle melt my heart. He has such a kind and thoughtful heart. He is a ball of energy. He is full of silliness, surprises, and jokes (especially if they involve farts or poop). He has a fire within him that drives his competitive nature and works hard at everything he tries. He is such great company to have around and loves to lend a helping hand whenever he sees a need.
Tim and I love watching this little man grow and mature. He has learned so much this year and is truly making his mark on the world.
Today we celebrate Gavin and the special kid he is. He is one of a kind. He is more precious to us than anything else in this world.
